The port of Odesa endured another devastating missile strike yesterday, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to six others, including two foreign nationals working on a , Sao Tome & Principe general cargo ship. The missile struck the berth where the vessel was unloading a shipment of metal, according to Ambrey, a maritime security specialist. Damage to gantry cranes, warehouses and port equipment was reported at the berth.

This was the second Russian airborne attack on Ukrainian maritime infrastructure within 48 hours.

This incident adds to a series of attacks on Odesa’s port infrastructure since the onset of the conflict. Notably, on March 11, 2025, the Barbados-flagged bulk carrier MJ Pinar was struck while loading wheat, resulting in the deaths of four seafarers and injuries to others . Similarly, on March 1, 2025, the Panamanian-flagged container ship MSC Levante F sustained damage from a missile strike, injuring two port workers.

The cumulative effect of these attacks has been the destruction of nearly 400 units of port infrastructure and over 30 vessels, according to Ukrainian authorities .
