The Bureau of Economy and Information Technology of Haining City, Zhejiang Province, announced that the project "Key Technologies and Complete Sets of Equipment for New-type Silicon-based Perovskite Tandem Solar Cells" submitted by Astronergy has been officially registered. As a renovation and expansion project, it plans to invest a total of 381.1 million yuan (over 53 million US dollars) and is located at No. 1 Jishi Road, Jiashan New District, Haining City, Zhejiang Province. With a total land area of 7.5 mu, the project will make full use of the existing 5,000-square-meter idle factory building for construction.

As an intelligent manufacturing enterprise under Chint Group focusing on photovoltaic cell and module businesses, the core goal of Astronergy's new project is to develop a comprehensive tandem photovoltaic technology solution, with a focus on breaking through the manufacturing process of high-efficiency and stable perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells. After completion, the project will establish an evaluation system specifically for such tandem cells, formulate technical standards and specifications covering materials, devices and systems, and form a complete technical support system from research and development to application.

It is learned that the project is scheduled to start construction in October 2025 and is expected to be completed in December 2027. The production line after completion will only be used for internal research and development without generating additional output value. Its core value lies in enhancing Astronergy's R&D capabilities in the photovoltaic field through technological innovation, while providing technical support for the development of renewable energy and sustainable development goals.

This investment will promote the transformation of idle space into a cutting-edge innovation center, which not only reflects Astronergy's determination to deploy in the frontier field of tandem solar cells, but also injects new impetus into the diversified development of photovoltaic technology. Astronergy's business scope includes the manufacturing and sales of photovoltaic equipment and components, as well as solar power generation technology services.
